Geoff
“Knuckles”
My nickname goes back to, in my opinion, a shockingly unfair decision by a referee in a rugby match.
I am a very keen hiker, particularly since retiring in 2016 after 40 years in the Aluminium Industry. Living in Switzerland, I hike with friends and family in the mountains. I also enjoy international hikes. These include:
- Everest Base Camp from the Tibet side
- Kilimanjaro in Tanzania
- The Camino de Santiago in Spain
- The Komano Kodo in Japan
- The Beara Way in Ireland
I am planning for The Long Trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal in November 2022. The West Highland Way will be an excellent part of my preparation.
I have not hiked in Scotland and I am looking forward to it. The West Highland Way is a famous hike and I’m proud to join a worthy cause raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
